All the signs of spring are emerging. The days are growing longer, the thermometer is on the rise, robins are back on the scene...and you will soon hear everyone’s favorite springtime announcement: “Kennywood’s open!”

Thomas Town™ at Kennywood brings to life everyone’s favorite No. 1 Engine

In addition to the classic line-up of coasters and thrill rides, exciting changes are on the horizon that will bring even more fun to the park! Thomas the Tank Engine and his friends are on track to welcome visitors young and old to their own corner of the park, Thomas TownTM. The National Football League joins forces with an amusement park for the very first time as we unveil an entire area that captures all of the excitement of game day in Steeler Country. To top it all off, a record-breaking new rollercoaster, The Steel Curtain, will climb to stratospheric heights and twist and turn above it all!

All your time-honored favorites are back, too, including the Jack Rabbit, Thunderbolt Racer, and Phantom’s Revenge. Forge unforgettable family memories as you take a spin on the merry-go-round or hop like a merry marsupial aboard the Kangaroo. From the Red Baron to the Raging Rapids, there’s fun at a pace for everyone.  As always, our bright and bouncy Kiddieland is ready to greet another generation of fledging fun-seekers.

Phantom's Revenge

Steeler Country will be a fanatic’s fantasy, recalling all the gridiron glory of an afternoon at the stadium. The area will feature unique Steeler experiences, including tests of sports skill, exclusive merchandise, and a tailgater’s paradise of football food. The crown jewel of the area is The Steel Curtain, a new coaster that provides a high-powered adrenaline rush as it careens and corkscrews 220 feet overhead at a speed of 76 miles per hour! The new rollercoaster will be one for the record books, earning titles for the tallest in Pennsylvania, most inversions in North America, and tallest inversion in the world!
