AAA Club Alliance Photo Contest 2024

OFFICIAL RULES

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN THIS CONTEST. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW OR REGULATIONS.

1.) SPONSOR: This photo contest is sponsored by AAA Club Alliance Inc. (“ACA”) through its affiliate AAA World Publishing Group, LLC (“AAA WORLD”).
2.) HOW TO ENTER: To enter the contest, mail your photos to: AAA Photo Contest, 1 River Place, Wilmington, Delaware 19801. Or, submit your digital photo through the contest link on AAA WORLD’s Facebook page. All entries must be postmarked or posted by October 4, 2024. There is no limit to the number of entries per person, and multiple entries may be sent in one envelope. Photos must fall into one of the following categories: US Travel, Nature, Children, Humor, World Travel.
3.) ELIGIBILITY: Entrants must be residents of ACA’s AAA Mid-Atlantic, Ohio Auto Club, AAA Allied Group (AAA Hartford, AAA Cincinnati. AAA Miami Valley, AAA Northwest Ohio, AAA Blue Grass, AAA Kansas, AAA Southern West Virginia, AAA Miami County) or AAA Oklahoma/South Dakota regions and be 21 years of age or older and a legal resident of the United States. Employees of ACA and its affiliates and prize providers and members of their immediate families are not eligible to participate in the contest.
4.) PHOTO REQUIREMENTS:
a. Photos must be at least 4 x 6 inches with photo location, photographer name, address and telephone number written clearly on the back of each photo or included with the digital entry.
b. Photos submitted online must be three megabytes or smaller, must be in .jpeg, .jpg or .gif format, and must be at least 1,500 pixels wide if horizontal or at least 1,500 pixels tall if vertical. High-quality scans of non-digital photographs are acceptable.
c. AAA WORLD reserves the right to disqualify entrants who cannot provide upon request a high-resolution file of at least 300 dpi at 4 x 6 inches.
d. Photos must have been taken by and be owned by the entrant. Photos previously published or pending publication are not eligible.
5.) GUIDELINES AND RESTRICTIONS: By uploading or mailing a photo, you agree that your entry conforms to the following guidelines and restrictions (all as determined by the Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion):
a. Photos that contain material or themes contrary to ACA’s Privacy Policy or Code of Conduct and Mission Statement as described in this Section 5 will be eliminated and deleted.
b. Photos must be family appropriate for all ages.
c. Photos must not contain material that violates or infringes another’s rights, including, but not limited to, privacy, publicity or intellectual property rights, or that constitutes copyright infringement or trademark infringement.
d. Photos must not disparage AAA or any other person or party.
e. Photos must not contain material that ACA deems be inappropriate, indecent, obscene, tortious, defamatory, slanderous or libelous, or that depicts any uncontrolled hazard or any unsafe procedure or practice.
f. Photos must not contain brand names or trademarks other than AAA marks, which entrant has a limited license to use for the sole purpose of creating and uploading an entry for this Contest. Photos must not endorse or be perceived to endorse any other commercial product or services (e.g., any clothing worn and/or products appearing in your photos must not contain any visible logos, trademarks or other third-party materials—note: all identifiable third-party products, trademarks, brands and/or logos must be blurred out so as to be unrecognizable).
g. Photos must not contain material that ACA deems, in its sole discretion, to promote bigotry, racism, hatred or harm against any group or individual or to promote discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or age.
h. The entry must not contain material that is unlawful, in violation of or contrary to the laws or regulations in any jurisdiction where the entry is created.
i. The entry may not include personal contact information such as but not limited to license number, name, address, phone number, social security number, passport number, driver’s license number, date of birth or any other personal identification except as is specifically requested.
6.) USE OF PHOTOS:
By submitting a photo, each entrant agrees that AAA WORLD shall have the perpetual right to use, display or reproduce the photo in any manner and in any media now existing or subsequently developed without further obligation to or permission by the entrant. Any photo reproduced will include a photographer credit if feasible. AAA WORLD will not return submitted photos.
7.) DISCLAIMER: AAA WORLD is not responsible for (a) lost, late, misrouted, damaged or illegible entries, or (b) any computer- or communications-related malfunctions or failures or disruptions or losses caused by events beyond the control of AAA WORLD.
8.) JUDGING: The top five winners will be selected by AAA WORLD staff members based upon composition, originality, artistic merit, adherence to theme and technical excellence. The selection will be conducted under the supervision of AAA WORLD, and the decision of the judges will be final in all matters relating to this contest.
a. From among the eligible entries received, the judges will select the top five photos in each category (Great American Road Trip, Around the World, People, City Life, and Iconic America). These photos will be posted online at AAA.com and on Facebook from November 1, 2024, through November 30, 2024, for voting by ACA members.
b. The general public will be invited to vote for a finalist in each category based on a scoring survey posted on the AAA WORLD Facebook page. AAA WORLD judges will then select prize winners from these finalists based on the criteria listed above.
c. The prizewinners will be notified by mail or email. Prizewinners will be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release assigning AAA WORLD copyright ownership of the Photo within 14 days of notification. If AAA WORLD does not receive the signed Affidavit within this time period, AAA WORLD reserves the right to award the prize to an alternate winner.
d. Applicable federal, state and local taxes are the responsibility of the winner. ACA may need to collect certain personal information from the winner so that ACA can provide the appropriate tax documents.
9.) ADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
a. The contest is void where restricted or prohibited by law.
b. ACA reserves the right to cancel, suspend or modify this contest if any problems prevent it from being conducted as planned.
c. By entering the photo contest, all entrants agree to abide by and accept the Official Rules. All entrants and winners agree to allow AAA WORLD and ACA and its affiliates to use their names, location and related personal information and photos for promotional purposes without obtaining further consent or providing compensation.
d. By accepting a prize, the winner agrees that neither ACA, AAA World, nor any of the parent, subsidiary, or affiliate companies and the agents, employees, directors or officers of any of these entities and prize providers, will have any liability for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind incurred in connection with or resulting from the use or misuse of any prize, or while traveling to, preparing for and/or participating in any prize-related activity.
e. These Official Rules are governed, construed and interpreted under the laws of the State of Delaware, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules.
10.) PRIZES: The prizes for the AAA World 2024 Photo Contest are as follows:
Grand Prize: $1,000 AAA Visa gift card.
First through Fourth Runners-up: $100 AAA Visa gift card.
The prizes are not redeemable for cash. ACA reserves the right to substitute any prize with another prize of equal or greater value if the original prize is not available for any reason.

Neither ACA nor AAA WORLD shall be liable to any winner or any person claiming through any winner for failure to supply any prize or any part thereof, by reason of any acts of God, any action(s), regulation(s), order(s) or request(s) by any governmental or quasi-governmental entity (whether or not the action(s), regulations(s), order(s) or request(s) prove(s) to be invalid), equipment failure, terrorist acts, blackout, act of public enemy, earthquake, war (declared or undeclared), fire, flood, epidemic/pandemic, explosion, unusually severe weather, hurricane, embargo, labor dispute or strike (whether legal or illegal) labor or material shortage, transportation interruption of any kind, work slowdown, civil disturbance, insurrection, riot, bankruptcy or insolvency of any prize supplier or any other cause beyond ACA’s or AAA WORLD’s sole control.

The winning photographs and names of winners will appear in an upcoming issue of AAA WORLD, AAA World’s Facebook page and on AAA.com.
